Stanford Thugs

Waddup guys.

Last weekend I went to Stanford Invite to make sure TPseXC or whatever is almost as good as TPDC. They have some new shirts (Little Dworsky apparently made up the slogan): We run like we are... ...long and hard. That was pretty good. Too bad they didn't race well. I think the guys were like 20th or something. Beat by RBV. The girls did ok, like 2nd or something.
It was good talking to Thorne...he was even sprinting around to see people run under the tunnel. The changed the course from when we ran it. You don't go up the big hill but do something else weird instead. There were a couple good surprises there. The family Thorne was there (his wife and Colin - I guess no littlest Thorne). So that was cool seeing them. Surprise number 2 was Tina Betry. She has super black hair and fingernails and other crazy goth stuff, but she seemed pretty Tina per usual. Final surprise (some of you younger ones might not know this one): Julie K. WOW! That was quite a shock, considering that she has even finished her college career. It was good talking to her though, so I didn't feel like the only old timer there.
One of my friends from the team (not Tooz) killed it pretty hard in the 4k. He was, however, beaten by Kevin Bickham who runs pretty damn fast now, compared to how he was running in high school. Stanford lets like anyone run there. Oh well, at least I've still got another year of eligibility coming up.

On Sunday I did some random Run for Peace in Berkeley. I cruised a 16:32 for a 2 minute margin of victory. That was pretty fun. I won some gift certificates for some restaurants. I'm all about racing for the money and the ladies now. I'm in some pretty off-season style training right now, but hopefully I'll start throwing down the big mileage and have a real track season.

Anyways, it's good to see that you guys have been racing well. Keep it up. Hope school is going well for all y'all and I'm looking forward to kickin' it with you fellahs when Thanksgiving or Winter Break roll around.

T-Bone out
