My gimped training

I hurt my achilles last summer on an overly-hard hill session in Tilden Park. It hurt during the summer. It went away during xc. It came back during the winter. I ran on it for 8 weeks of good training, decided I wanted to be able to run after track season so I decided to back off.....that was early January and it still hurts....the story of Mark Lonac and Robert's post-freshman college running careers......should only run 15 miles a week like Tye.....

5/25 5kish loop, 25 minutes
5/24 off
5/23 4 miles, 30 min
5/22 5 min bike warmup, 6 miles 43 minutes, lift

5/21 5 miles, 40 minutes on xc course
5/20 off
5/19 5.5ish 39 minutes
5/18 5 min bike warmup, 5.5ish 39 minutes, lift
5/17 off (nap)
5/16 10 min bike warmup, 5kish loop 24.5 minutes, lift
5/15 off

5/14 10 min run, lift
5/13 40 min run
5/12 off
5/11 15 min stationary bike workout, 8 min run w/strides, lift
5/10 10 min bike warmup, 16.5 min run
5/9 25 minute stationary bike workout, 6 min run w/strides, lift
5/8 10 min bike warmup, 30 minute run

I'd cross train for real but I also have patellar tendonitis that gets very bad from biking and aquajogging....so I just have to let my fitness drain away....still having fun here though!

Sounds like you guys are training for middle school

Now, I know you guys all think that running is a joke...but I like to take things seriously. This was my training last week:

Thursday (when I started up again): Nice easy 12 miles to get the legs warm...68 minutes
Friday: Off
Saturday: Off
Sunday: 10K Time trial...I was running on the track, and some Kenyan started running with me...so about 28-29
Monday: Off
Tuesday: Ran with Alex. 3 miles, 10 minute pace. Water break halfway through.
Wednesday: Off

So...real training
Thursday: Easy 5 to get started
Friday: Paced a friend for a sub-5 mile
Saturday: Easy 5-6
Sunday: Bay to Breakers 12K
Monday: Off
Tuesday: 3 mile tempo with Alex at 17:15
Wednesday: Off

Brett...what's going on with your training? I know you had that race, but what has the running been like besides that.

Remember guys, go big or go home!

who would win in a 5k

chuck norris would win in a 5k, just like he won the testicle contest against lance armstrong (by five).

if not chuck norris, then probably mark lonac.

who the hell is cobra commander?

ricketts

i saw him at stanford like a month ago. he ran a 5k i think, maybe a 1500, can't remember the time. he's teammates for the asics aggies with one of davis' former best 1500 runners ever. i didn't talk to him at stanford, figured he wouldn't remember me, especially cause the hair.

on another note, tully dizzle...fuck that guy got so good. he's like 4:15, 9:20 now?! damn. too bad i schooled that fool in the first annual nctg beer mile.

douchebag

yeah thats me, i can never remember people's birthdays...happy 21st dan.
i even forgot that my sister's birthday was may 11 until like may 8, at which point i was out of town so i couldn't send a gift off til the actual day of her birthday.

dirty don, what the hell does 'eligible member of the short bus' mean?

brett, it is still way beyond my comprehension how your parents, out of all the parents, are the ones buying their underaged kid alcohol! have they ever explained to you why once you went to college they started buying it for you? you should get them to buy you some weed and shrooms as well.

it is hot in davis, i just went on a 45 min run and it was like 87 degrees of hell.

This is some trippy shit

Dirtydon here, this is trippy stuff mon. Just chillin in Santa Barbara goin to SBCC (Santa Barbara City College). Going to be going here for the summer and next fall then transfering to UCSB for the winter quarter, my sister is also going to be attending UCSB. I have decided to major in geography cause it's easy. I have decided to start going to class unlike at IU, and found out that going to class actualy helps, been gettin solid grades. I have been on a Macrobiotic diet for a month now trying to get my indigestion problems under control. Lost like ten pounds in my first week on the diet. I have decided to come out of retirement and start running again, I am realy slow. I am moving into a 10 person house in Isla Vista on July 1 with two people from TP, Matt Mears and a flellow member of the ILTA (Iish Latino Tan American, just incase you forgot) Matt Casino. Should be sick. I have finals this comming week, and then I will be home May 19- June 19 ( going fishing in the mountains for a few days some time durring then, Rock Creek). I start summer school June 19 and will be in SB from then until August when I go to Costa Rica with the fam to explore the rain forest and tear into some epic bowls(Waves). Have been trying to surf, but the Channel Islands suck and block all the sick swells from hitting SB, so this is why I have decided to start running again when there is no surf which is like every day except for the winter or when I drive and hour oustide of the swell shadow.
I am down for seeing some of you dudes this Summer. Hit me up.
P.S.
Dragonforce sucks ass, sure the guitarist rip, but who wants to listen to video game metal, there songs are metal with a gay ass singer and video game like solos, you want metal listen to some Mudvayne, As I Lay Dying, or Jessica Simpson. One of my stoner buddies who is an elligible member for the short bus listens to Dragonforce, and he is one of those Dungeon and Dragons kids, so I would recomend you stop listenning to them before you are hangin out in the comic book shop all day playin Dungeons and Dragons.
I gotto go do some studying, later dudes.......SHOUT OUT TO MY BOY SEXY Robert Nachtsheim.

Summer plans?

I'm sure I've asked you guys all like 20 times, but I want to know everyone's summer plans, and more importantly, when you plan on being home, if you're going to be. Hopefully, we can set something up where we can all get together for a run or boba and danknuts or something. Also, if anyone plans on being or visiting SLO let me know, cause that's where I'll be from the middle of June to the middle of August. Other than that, I should be home the last week in May, the second week in July, and the third week in August.

P.S. Brett, did you try e-mailing Navid or any of those other guys? I told Alex last night about it, so hopefully he'll get on.

where i was

well i've been busy, i was in colorado from 2am sunday morning til midnight of tuesday/wednesday. rocking out to a british heavy metal band called dragonforce. it was a gine road trip.
but i'm going thru my emails now so i signed up...
addressing the other posts:

dani ran 2:07!!?! holy shit. that's awesome. i was happy that i was in good enough shape to head out to the track for my run last night and drop a 5:34 1600 with relative ease.

i don't know what you guys are talking about with schubert and acosta but it doesn't sound that important.

mark lonac update:
- middle of spring quarter
- tye will be happy to hear i'm gnyawing my midterms, set the curve twice this quarter
- running: trying to come back from left shin problem that's had me out since cross, running every other day for 35-50 min.
- future plans: houseboats at lake shasta for memorial weekend, friend's cabin in grass valley june 16-18 right after finals, july 4-16 ireland...rest of summer will mostly be in davis training and working, fixing up my house a bit, etc, but also i really want to make a solid maybe 10 day trip to SD.
- still trying to decided whether to double major or just minor. likely will graduate after 4 and a quarter.
- i am still much cooler than robert nachtsheim

New blogger name

Per Ryan Graddy's request, I have changed my name and password so Footlocker finalists and other miscellaneous persons will not have access to this blog. Although, Ryan, I think anything you say can be seen by everyone on the internet if they know about this blog, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey

Hi everyone. I'm still here at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. As you all know I still do all those zany things I do here. This summer I will be in Minneapolis working as a "strategic consulting intern" at Public Financial Management. While it pains me to be away from San Diego for the summer, it will give me a little more leeway with the jobs I can land after graduation. So, if you're in the upper-Midwest this summer, stop on by.

I've had an achilles injury since January, so I have not been competing in indoor/outdoor track. I should be fine for xc however. In the past few months I have become a bigger gossip queen than I could ever imagine, but it's all about stuff here at Carleton that happens everwhere else and in movies, books and tv shows.

My blogger name is from a previous blog that I administered for the North County Training Group.
